چکیده

introduction: traumatic arteriovenous fistula (avf) called to an abnormal relationship between artery and vein which occurs in 10% of arterial traumas. if treatment of avf due to trauma delayed, different outcomes including heart failure, varices and varicose ulcers may accure. in case of chronic traumatic avf, open surgery may lead to remarkable outcomes, presence of many lateral veins and varicose veins in fistula, noticeably increases the risk of bleeding during surgery. endovascular methods such as fistula embolization are appropriate alternates with fewer computations instead of open surgeries and easily done by local anesthesia. case repot: the patient was a 53-year-old man who was hit by shrapnel pieces in war. in ct angiography, avf of lower limb was reported. he underwent right lower limb angiography and the fistula between peroneal artery and peroneal vein was amended by edndovascular method with embolization. conclusion: edndovascular techniques are more appropriate for treatment of arteriovenous fistula instead of open surgery.

Spinal dural arteriovenous fistula : a case report

Background: Spinal dural AVF is the most common type of spinal vascular malformation. However, presenting symptoms differ according to site of spinal involvement. This study described a case of arteriovenous malformation with paraparesis and incontinence. Case Presentation: Diagnosis of patient was confirmed by clinical and imaging examination using magnetic resonance image and ruling out ot...

Pial Arteriovenous Fistula Caused by Trauma: A Case Report

We report an extremely rare case of pial arteriovenous fistula (AVF) caused by trauma. A 61-year-old man suffered from brain contusion by a traffic accident. He was neurologically normal on admission. However, his headache gradually worsened, and partial seizures occurred thereafter. He presented with general tonic seizure 7 days after the head injury. Magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated th...

Coil Embolization of Spontaneous Vertebral Arteriovenous Fistula Associated with Neurofibromatosis Type 1: A Case Report

most common autosomal dominant genetic disorders and this inherited disease is associated with various neoplasms, skeletal and vascular abnormalities (1). The vascular lesions affecting the head and neck of patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1) has been reported as occlusive or stenotic form, moyamoya vessel or aneurysm. However, spontaneous vertebral arteriovenous fistula (AVF) associa...

Intercavernous sinus dural arteriovenous fistula treated with transvenous coil embolization: a case report.

The blood supply to the region of the cavernous sinus is provided by interconnecting branches of the internal and external carotid arteries, and it is from these vessels that dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) arise. It is very rare that DAVFs are located at the intercavernous sinuses region; in this case, a proper localization of the fistulous site is of extreme importance in order to succes...

Percutaneous treatment of a superior mesenteric artery pseudoaneurysm and arteriovenous fistula with coil embolization: a case report.

Visceral artery pseudoaneurysm and arteriovenous fistula following penetrating abdominal injuries is a rarely observed complication. Presently described is the case of a 44-year-old male admitted to the hospital after having previously experienced penetrating abdominal trauma. The patient had developed a pseudoaneurysm in the superior mesenteric artery and an arteriovenous fistula between the s...

Congenital Facial Arteriovenous Fistula Successfully Treated by Tranarterial Embolization: a case report

It is difficult to manage arteriovenous malformations or fistulas of the face because of the abundant vascular network in this region. They are commonly manifest in childhood or adolescence and often present with significant hemorrhage or cosmetic defects. We report a one-year-old infant with a facial arteriovenous fistula. It is successfully treated by transarterial embolization with metallic ...
